How to check Walmart and Amazon listings for weak titles, bullets and policy risks

Weak titles, thin bullets and risky claims can suppress a listing or hold it back. This guide shows how to pull the right catalog file from Amazon Seller Central or Walmart Seller Center, what ListWise Pro checks, and how to use the score and Health checklist without inventing results you have not verified yourself.

1. Get the right file

ListWise Pro accepts .csv, .tsv or tab-delimited .txt files (up to 500 rows per upload) or pasted rows. It recognises common headers — SKU, Title / item name, Description, Bullets (or Bullet 1…N / key features), Brand, Category / item type, Price — and Amazon flat-file layouts with label rows above the headers. Columns it does not recognise are kept as attributes. Fields that are not in your file are treated as empty, so a report without bullets or descriptions will show those as issues.

Amazon Seller Central — inventory report

  • Open Reports → Inventory Reports.
  • Select the report type (for example Active Listings or All Listings).
  • Check that the report includes bullet and description columns. These inventory reports often do not; for a full check, export a full inventory file (flat file) that includes those fields.
  • Click Request Report (reports generally take 15–45 minutes). When the status is Ready, download the file. It is usually tab-delimited .txt, which ListWise Pro reads directly.
  • Amazon notes inventory reports need a Professional selling plan and stay available for 30 days.

Walmart Seller Center — Item report

  • The item report is usually on the Reports dashboard under Catalog reports (item-level product details, identifiers, status and pricing).
  • Download the CSV and check that it includes title, description and key-feature columns.
  • Walmart Canada describes a Manage Items route (Download icon → Download Catalogue / Download Report, a ZIP containing a CSV). US button labels may differ; confirm against your Seller Center.

2. What ListWise Pro checks

  • Marketplace auto-detect or override. Headers usually identify Amazon vs Walmart; you can also choose the marketplace. For Amazon, pick the store (Auto, US, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, UK, Germany, India) so local notes such as language, spelling and units apply.
  • Score 0–100 with the rule set labelled. Labels on the site: Good ≥ 80, Fair 60–79, Needs work < 60. Scores are guidance, not a guarantee of marketplace approval or ranking.
  • Missing fields and attributes, short or keyword-stuffed titles, weak or missing bullets, thin descriptions, and (Amazon) backend search terms ("generic_keywords").
  • Amazon US non-media titles are limited to 75 characters including spaces (rule in effect since July 27, 2026). Media categories allow longer titles; ListWise Pro flags over-limit titles for non-media US listings.
  • Policy-risk flags such as "#1", "guaranteed", health claims, other-marketplace mentions, promo text, ALL CAPS and special characters — with notes where Amazon is stricter.
  • Health / ListingRescue ranks suppression / unpublish risks high, medium or low from the data you upload (missing images, required attributes or bullets, too-short or stuffed text, category mismatches), each with a plain-English impact, fix, Fixed checkbox and notes. Live suppressed-status detection needs marketplace API access (not available yet).
  • Optional AI rewrite drafts a new title, bullets and description from the listing's own facts, labelled AI-generated. Review before publishing; that listing's text is sent to the AI provider when you ask for a rewrite.

3. How to use it

  • Create a free account and open ListWise Pro / Upload. Choose Upload CSV or Paste data, pick the file, leave Marketplace rules on Auto-detect (or choose Walmart / Amazon), then Import & score.
  • Uploaded listings are stored in your Utility Belt Labs account so you can re-open them, track the Health checklist and re-score later. That is different from FeeAudit, which processes payment reports in the browser and does not upload them.
  • Free plan: 3 listings total (lifetime; deleting a listing does not free a slot). Sample files you can try: Walmart-style sample CSV and Amazon flat-file sample.
  • On the dashboard, worst scores appear first. Open a listing for the issue list (errors, warnings, tips), score breakdown and Health checklist. Export CSV downloads your listings with scores and issues.

Pricing

ListWise Pro is free for 3 listings total, then $14.99/month for unlimited listings on its own, or included in the Full Suite of all four Utility Belt Labs tools for $34.99/month. Prices are in US dollars and exclude any applicable tax. Cancel anytime.
