How to check Amazon FBA and Walmart WFS fees for overcharges

Marketplace fees change often, and a wrong product size, weight or category can quietly raise what you pay on every sale. This guide shows how to pull the right report from Amazon Seller Central or Walmart Seller Center, what kinds of fee differences are worth a closer look, and how FeeAudit helps you find them.

1. Get the right report

You need your own payment report. FeeAudit never connects to your marketplace account; you download the file yourself.

Amazon settlement report (Flat File V2)

  • Open the All Statements page of the Payments report (legacy Seller Central) or Finance Report (new Seller Central).
  • Optionally narrow the list with Select Date Range.
  • In the Actions column of the settlement period you want, click Download Flat File V2 and save the file.

Amazon custom date range instead

  • Go to Payments → Reports Repository, pick the account type, then Transaction report (CSV).
  • Choose Month or Custom date range (up to 365 days) and click Request report. It can take up to three hours.

Walmart Marketplace payments (reconciliation) report

  • The report is usually under Payments → Statements, for the pay cycle you want. Labels can differ in your account.
  • Walmart offers a more detailed legacy version and a summary version. Check that your file has per-item rows (SKU plus amounts).

2. What to look for

  • Fulfillment fees above the SKU's usual fee, or above similar-priced items. This often points to a product measured or weighed into a bigger size tier.
  • Sudden fulfillment fee step-ups for a SKU whose product didn't change. On Amazon, part of a step-up between Oct 15 and Jan 14 may be the holiday peak fee, which is expected.
  • Referral rates that vary for the same SKU, or sit above the standard rate (15% on most categories), which can mean the wrong category.
  • Possible double charges, where the same fee row appears twice.

Published fee changes, promotions and category rules can explain many differences, so rule those out before you open a case.

3. Check it with FeeAudit

  • Open FeeAudit. Signed out, you can run the built-in sample Amazon and Walmart reports to see how it works.
  • With a subscription, drop in your own report. It is processed in your browser and never uploaded.
  • FeeAudit flags fees that look too high, estimates the possible recovery per SKU (fee charged minus the expected fee, times units), and rates each issue high, medium or low. Items that often have a legitimate explanation are listed as "review" and left out of the total.
  • Export the flagged issues as a CSV (SKUs, order IDs, dates and details) to attach when you open a case with the marketplace.

Supported: Amazon US, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, UK, Germany and India, and Walmart US. Results are estimates to verify, not confirmed overcharges, and dispute windows vary, so follow the marketplace's current process.
